Akito Hiraishi (b. 1990, Tokyo) is the First Prizewinner of the Professor Dichler Conducting Competition.
He has been invited to many music festivals and conducting courses, including the International Bartok Festival (Hungary), Kirishima International Music Festival (Japan), and Wiener Musik Seminar (Austria). In almost all of them, he was selected as Outstanding Conductor.
Hiraishi has conducted a number of orchestras internationally including the Moravian Philharmonic Orchestra, Savalia Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Instabile di Arezzo, Orchestra Ensemble Kanazawa, and National Presidential Symphony of Ukraine.
In addition to his symphonic work, he has assisted Maestro Tatsuya Shimono for a production of “Fidelio” and conducted many premieres in the field of contemporary music.
He began his musical studies with piano lessons at 5 and horn at 10. In March 2015, he graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts (Bachelor of Music, Musicology). His conducting teachers include Tatsuya Shimono, Johannes Wildner, Martin Sieghart, and Zsolt Hamar.
Since October 2017, he has studied with Johannes Wildner at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna.
He is based in Vienna and Tokyo.
